The plan for the year 2008 for the Midway Club

- to equip and put into service all models of warships 1:100 and 1:150 in such a way that they are fitted with the best available control equipment through remote control sets. This should fully comply with all the main functions of the models; ie. operation of engines forward and back, control with the aid of rudder, right and left, including stopping. All the main gun towers should be revolving with the principal guns emulating gunfire with the aid of electronically controlled firing of blank shots (blank ammunition). All instructions should be through radio controlled sets. The fitting out of boats with smoke equipment, enabling the boat to give off smoke while in operation. The fitting of boats with special electronic equipment for so called boat noises, including ship fog sirens, battle alarms, shooting of heavy and light guns and P.P.L., ships bell, radio and other sound effects.

Furthermore all boats are or will be fitted with lights and luminous reflectors including positional lights. Some chosen boats will be fitted with further special effects, for example an aircraft carrier will have a lift elevator with aircraft, a luminous aircraft landing strip, revolving propeller on the starting plane, rotating radar and in some cases a crane for lifting anchors or other equipment.
Every boat is fitted with a radio controlled set and will be controlled by a member of the club in a way that will enable it to achieve maximum manoeuvrability during all demonstrational events.
The club headquarters is in Dukelska street (se photo) and is equipped with all modellers tools and diagnostics including the audio - video technology necessary for modelling activities and the servicing of boats.

The staging of an event

is dependent on the weather, and in the case of light rain, a decision will always be made on location (for example, as you know in Sobesice it can be snowing, while in Modrice the sun can be shining. The exact dates of individual events will always be confirmed on this website 3-4 days before hand.
Some chosen events will be filmed by our own film crew MIDO Film Brno, or in some cases by Czech or Slovak television for documentary or advertising purposes. Our activities are without doubt unusual and interesting both in the Czech Republic and Slovakia as well as in the E.U.
To all fans and those interested in model boats in and around Brno as well as from the whole of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, our club is open to you. For those of you interested in joining and helping the club in the above mentioned activities or otherwise wishing to take part with your model warships measuring 1:100 or 1:150 in our co-operative events, you will be welcomed.
